Plagiarism

Technology makes it easier to plagiarize then it ever has been in history.  To copy someone else's work all one needs to do is "copy and paste".  Someone can copy 1000 words of one person and stick it in their own writing in one split second.  This almost promotes plagiarism by making it so easy.  Colleges are using websites like turn it in.com which makes a student upload documents to a website which scans the document for similar or exactly the same writings on the internet.  This makes policing for plagiarism that much easier on the teacher.

  1. My english professor last semester made us submit all of our papers to that website to check us for plagiarism.

  2. I also used Turnitin.com before and it checks every aspect of your work for signs of plagiarism.

  3. I know cheating is becoming a huge problem in academics but I would like to see the numbers for those who got away with it. I feel like the numbers keep increasing for plagiarism but the internet websites like turnit in make it harder to get away with it.
